Pro Bono Students Canada at UNB is made possible through the dedication of our student volunteers. Each year, students contribute their time, skills, and passion to support access to justice initiatives across New Brunswick. We are proud to recognize both our current volunteers and the many students who have contributed to PBSC over the years.
2025-2026 STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
KATERINA SPENRATH
Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada (ARCC)
Katerina researched and analyzed abortion rights frameworks in Canada and the United States, with a focus on landmark case law and evolving legal developments. She prepared a memorandum exploring the similarities and differences between the two jurisdictions and the potential implications of changes in U.S. abortion law for reproductive rights in Canada.
AUSTIN DEWYNTER
Madhu Verma Migrant Justice Centre (MADHU)
“PBSC was an incredible opportunity for experiential learning in an area of law I had never thought to consider. It’s a great chance to open your mind to all the different opportunities that exist across the field of law. Thanks to the Madhu Verma Migrant Justice Centre I worked on a submission to the United Nations that I will never stop bragging about!”
MACKENZIE GREEN
Elizabeth Fry Society
“My experience as a PBSC volunteer has been incredibly rewarding. Through my work with the Elizabeth Fry Society of New Brunswick’s Legal Liaison Program, I developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of accessible legal information for newcomers navigating unfamiliar legal systems. Contributing to resources that help community organizations support individuals during some of the most stressful and uncertain moments in their lives has strengthened my commitment to improving access to justice.”
